When I was approached to undertake this project, not only was I honored, but I was also quite challenged, at it would be a longer project than most, with representation of a family's Welsh history. During the course of this project, a bonding friendship was developed with Gordon and his wife Beverly, with whom I
remain deeply fond of and close to.

As the project proceeded, I was supplied with the Lee Middleton doll "Ring Bearer" as my model. He was a gracious doll, as he modeled not only the male fashions but also the female ones. By sending one doll, with the same measurements, creating patterns and trying them on as I went, made the job
easier and I was able to provide Gordon with "pictures in process" showing how they would fit the dolls he had at home.. Gordon also provided authentic materials that would have been worn for this era. Enjoy the work-in-process pictures and story below, as well as, "The Story Behind the Project"
