Bridal/Bridesmaid/Prom & Formal Gown Services See notes below
I can only provide an average of what is typical on the phone or through email. Depending on your alteration needs, as well as fabric type, your actual alteration will vary in price. Due to style, fabrics, your specific fit, etc., it is hard to provide a firm price for any special garment. My goal is to provide you with a fit most appropriate for you and your desired look. Additional charges are added when a customer makes changes to the original request, or if the client loses weight after the fitting, etc. In order to provide you an estimate of costs, you will need to make an appointment for a consult and fitting. There is a non-refundable fee of $50 at your fitting/consult which MUST be paid upfront. This is reduced from your final bill if you decide for me to complete your alteration. Please know that most formal dress alterations have been starting around $150 for basic prom & bridesmaid alterations. Bridal dresses average $350 and go up from there. Please provide plenty of time for your alteration need (Brides preferably 2-3 months due to scheduling with at least 6 wks notice. I will provide alterations with a faster turn around, but you may incur rush fees. Other formal wear preferably 4-6 weeks with at least 2-3 wks notice). Providing plenty of time to have your dress altered, will give you the peace of mind that this part of your wedding/special occasion preparation is complete and taken care of and avoid rush fees. Also, allowing plenty of time provides more flexibility for any necessary/additional fittings or changes you desire. If you are bringing multiple garments, such as your boudoir for your honeymoon, I need to schedule plenty of time for you. When you schedule, I will need to know quantities and types of garments that you are bringing. Rush orders (less than 2-6 week notice) have a 20% added cost (depends on needs and current schedule), with a minimum of $35. Please know that it is rare that a client needs more than one fitting. Over the course of the past 10 years in business, I have had only two clients who have had to have more than one fitting after the alterations were complete. This happens when there are a variety of changes that cannot be done in one setting or sometimes with body challenges such as pregnancy, etc.. With over 35 years experience in sewing, I strive to give you quality seamstress work, leaving you completely satisfied with your garment. Depending on location and available time, I will consider full bridal party alterations at your home, with an additional fee for travel and mileage.
